Location and Facilities

Mahoe Med as an A&M is a vibrant and busy practice in Te Awamutu.  The practice’s highly trained and motivated staff works well together as a team to provide an excellent intergrated service to the community. It has well-established and positive relationships with its patients and the wider community to provide an integrated health home.  The practice prides itself on its ability to adapt to change and meet challenges in its goal to provide a caring and cost-effective primary health service.

Mahoe Med is located just outside the central business district of Te Awamutu, and forms part of the Te Awamutu Mega Centre shopping complex which provides ample parking.

Mahoe Med is equipped with 10 consulting rooms and 3 nurse treatment rooms, a theatre and a fully equipped resuscitation room. The latter makes it possible to treat patients with emergencies, including those brought in by ambulance. All consultation rooms are equipped with an examining couch and appropriate examination equipment, and treatment rooms are fully stocked with the equipment required for dressings, plasters, venepuncture, etc. The practice is fully computerised, with computer access in every room. A further nurse consultation room allows a friendly environment for consultations on diabetics, cardiovascular risk and many more.

The practice is fully wheelchair accessible and has a large waiting area which can accommodate 30 to 50 patients.  The waiting room also has a picket-fenced children’s corner which allows them to be safe and give parents peace of mind.

Adjacent to the practice is Sanders Pharmacy. A connecting door through the waiting area allows patients easy access for all their prescription and other medication requirements.

Mahoe Med has its own radiology service adjacent to the practice with a connecting door through the waiting area.

Also on site is Focused Physio who works very closely with the medical staff in the treatment of our patients.
